Created and art-directed the complete 3D environment for Amperehour Energy's realtime website, keeping all models and textures below 5 MB without losing the visual character of the site.
I art-directed and created the complete 3D environment for Amperehour Energy's Kilokari battery energy storage website, handling all modelling and texturing for the interactive world. Studio Typo designed and developed the website; my responsibility was making sure its central 3D experience remained visually distinctive without becoming a loading or rendering burden.
Treating performance as part of the art direction
Every modelling, texturing, and look-development decision had to account for live delivery in the browser. Rather than creating conventional assets and optimizing them at the end, I designed the visual language around economical geometry, compact textures, and details that would survive the realtime pipeline efficiently.
A complete 3D environment under 5 MB
All models and textures across the 3D website remained below 5 MB in total. That budget covered the complete environment rather than one isolated asset, so consistency and reuse had to be built into the art pipeline from the beginning.
I also helped Studio Typo implement the post-processing approach, drawing on my experience with Unity and Unreal Engine to balance atmosphere, clarity, and browser performance. The result is an interactive site where the 3D world carries the identity of the experience without making the art an obstacle to accessing it.
