Jugnuma: The Fable | Film VFX

I served as the credited CG Lead on Raam Reddy's feature Jugnuma: The Fable, working directly under the VFX Supervisor for more than four years. I supported the CG and VFX approach across nearly every effects shot, completed several shots independently, and helped carry work from early problem-solving through final delivery.

A role shaped by the needs of each shot

The film did not call for one repeated category of effects. Some shots needed a complete solution under my ownership; others needed technical development, asset work, compositing support, review, or coordination with the wider team. Working second to the VFX Supervisor meant moving between those responsibilities while keeping the visual intention and production constraints connected.

Following the problem, not the software

Over the course of the production I learnt and worked across Nuke, Houdini, Blender, EmberGen, DaVinci Resolve, and Substance Painter, alongside generative tools for depth and edge estimation. I also explored emerging AI-assisted methods where they might support the work, without treating experimentation as a substitute for a finished shot.

The software changed because the problems changed. The consistent part of the role was evaluating what a shot needed, finding a practical route to the intended image, and staying involved until the result could hold up in the film.
